About Joanna wirkus
Welcome to my personal website and e-portfolio. Here you will find more information about me and my path to becoming a dietetics professional.
I graduated with my BS in Clinical Nutrition from UC Davis in June 2014. I completed dream dietetic internship through Bastyr University in and around Seattle and became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2015. I was born in Poland and moved to California as a young child. My journey with healthcare has inspired me to dedicate my life to helping others improve their health. My career goal is to positively impact the future of healthcare as a researcher and clinician. My research interests include cancer, dietary interventions, and plant bioactive compounds.

2015 Nutrition nerd who is now officially a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). My first year of practice I spent working in the hospital setting at a major medical center and several smaller community hospitals. I also had the opportunity to teach sustainability focused culinary education classes at 21 Acres in Woodinville pictured left.
2016-2017 Accepting new and exciting opportunities to advance my clinical skills as a dietitian, I now enjoy helping oncology patients get the nutrition they need to get through cancer treatment at St. Joseph Medical Center. I also continued to practice general inpatient clinical nutrition as a per diem dietitian at EvergreenHealth Medical Center.
Late 2017 I started a new position helping cancer patients make better dietary choices for their condition at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.
2019 I relocated back to California and joined RDs for Healthcare Inc. |
